The search for increased pleasure and new sexual experimentation has driven many advances in sex toy tech, as well as many other technologies and industries, as well as the repurposing of existing technologies in sexy and creative ways. One new start-up, Zveotec (Zveo-Tech), is seeking to do just this with portable sensor technology. The Zveotec team includes some fantastic talents, with experienced MedTech and design professionals. While Sen is still in development, I’m very excited to to get all the information I can about the company, their process, and what top-of-the-line tech is included in this toy. In this interview, we’ll dive into how this blend of design and medical technology influenced the development of Zveotec’s new sex toy, Sen, and how the creators have utilized tech to help deliver great orgasms and a fun, fantastic user experience.
Read on to learn more about how Zveotec was founded and the technology they are utilizing in Sen to deliver great orgasms, creative fun, and a fantastic user experience. You can also read Part Two of our interview, where we discuss the exciting senarios and possibilities in which you can use a Sen, Zveotec’s next exciting project, and how to preorder Sen with a special discount code, here.
Thank you so much for the interview! Zveotec is a company you started, right?
Yes, we’re start-up veterans with a background in MedTech. We always wanted to do something with SexTech, mostly because it’s fun! But also because the potential for innovation is huge and woefully underutilized.
SexTech for us is about using tech to explore and realize fantasies; that’s the fun part.
We know from cell phone technology and many other technologies that a lot can be done with sensors. Cell phones can measure pressure, direction, movement speed, and much more. What is your experience with sensors, and what improvements in sex tech do you see coming with them? How does your new toy utilize tech differently from other companies on the market now?
So, our background is in MedTech- data-driven therapeutics – which is essentially electronics hardware. This basically means sensors, specifically biometric sensors. So Zveotec is an electronics company first- sensor technology and control systems. Electronics is really all about control systems, like sex! It’s a natural fit.
We understand the underlying science. Applying tech properly requires an understanding of the context. For example, the touch sensors on your phone screen won’t work on a dildo.
Our approach is a fantasy-driven sex-centered design. This, together with an understanding of the technology, is what makes us different.
As for sex toys of the future, there are two ways of answering that. I’ll briefly touch on both.
Generally, AI, and implementations of AI in augmented reality, as well as virtual reality, have a lot to offer. The problem is people are going to try and make you take a headset to bed – it’s ridiculous. Likewise, attempts to build robotic sex dolls are doomed to fail.
The real potential is in the emergence of machine/human interfacing, any device or software that augments and enhances your sexual pleasure. Sen is essentially that. The future is about to begin, with Sen!
The second answer is that sensors will become more prevalent. At least from Zveotec, there’s a boatload of applications on the way.
How long have you been working on Sen? What inspired you to start creating toys designed for pleasure?
Not that long. At least not on the concept. That was tested and proven within about a month early last year.
It took a few months to make the early prototype, and we’ve been working on the design and setup for production over the past six months.
And we’re inspired by the potential of technology to enhance sexual pleasure, play, and fantasy.
What are some of the things Sen can do that your customers will be attracted to?
Yup, there’s a lot. You should check out our ‘How to Play’ and ‘Features’ sections on the website. I’ll briefly summarize the best part here.
There are things we’ve programmed in to improve the experience, and there are things that just work because SEN is built to respond naturally. You can give a blow job, and you can rub SEN against your partner during foreplay. In both cases, SEN responds naturally.
On the coded features, besides an optimized blowjob mode, we have a number of pegging profiles that dictate where the vibrations are focused (clit or g-spot) in response to thrust, and how sensitive the vibration response is to thrust.
The latter is important, it’s called the Alpha setting, and it can be adjusted to match your ideal vibration levels with your pegging style. You can read about it in our newsletter here: (sign up)
Sen also has an orgasm detection algorithm. When SEN detects your climax is approaching, it goes into orgasm reinforcement mode. At full penetration, SEN will lock in a steady optimal vibe intensity and hold it there as long as you need, only calming down when you pull out. Just like the real thing.
Can you touch on, more specifically, which types of technology you are using in Zveotec Sen? How advanced do these things get?
Not really. We need to protect our IP, but we can talk about the application, which I touched on above. We’re applying a sensor to infer touch.
It’s actually better than sensing touch directly. Technically it’s a thrust-sensing strap-on. It’s the code that allows it to mimic touch. Thrust is really what you want to infer from touch in the first place when you’re trying to peg someone senseless anyway.
It’s an efficient solution to a complex problem. The really advanced part is the algorithm, which repurposes the sensor for thrust sensing rather than its intended use (which has nothing to do with anal sex and vaginas!).
I have researched many sex toys and personally prefer to get the highest quality toys, purchasing fewer of them overall. Zveotec Sen seems to have a great price point for all the tech in there. How are you able to keep the highest quality at a great price point?
Right! The quick answer is that it’s currently being sold at near cost in the pre-order campaign, and you’ll never get it cheaper!
There’s good reason to launch like this. Sen is a flagship product. Plus, the technology can be applied to a range of other toys, and we have a bunch of other technologies we plan to apply to other fantasies. So, we’re not making any real profit on the campaign. What we want out of it is to set up the brand and have people using our products.
Have you had the opportunity to try the toy out yet?
Ok, so the original prototype was tried and tested back when the code was much simpler. It worked right then; it was good enough to sell. We didn’t stop there, though.
With continued work and testing, the algorithm has become much smarter. It’s designed to track rhythm and respond naturally, not just vibrate at the intensity of the thrust.
But we only have a couple of factory samples, and we’re keeping them for external and independent testers.
The samples we have are on their way to our testers as we speak. Both will be filming their experience with SEN and giving an independent review. Stay tuned for that. Also, be sure to visit our site at www.zveotec.com, plus sign up to the mailing list here!
