Though my partner and I used it to break skin, it is easy to avoid intense scratches by gauging the pressure you use in play, just in case that’s not your thing. And as a bonus, it’s made of metal with holes throughout, so no matter what part of it is used to make contact, the impact is enough of a sting AND thud that will have you moaning for more. Just be sure if you end up getting one that you’re prepared for it to not last long. Unfortunately we destroyed ours within a few uses.

- Okay for spot #2, I’ll list something that’s more likely to be in your house right at this moment. One word: UTENSILS.
The kitchen is full of wondrous possibilities. Metal spoons, spatulas, tongs even–all fantastic for giving the booty, or wherever, a good smack. These are a little more heavy duty, but are definitely worth the acute pain. However, if you’re not metal enough for metal (only said for the pun, it’s totally okay to not want to be hit with metal objects), wooden utensils keep the acuity high often with a lower impact. Wood will sting, but the “thud” of the impact won’t last as long (well, with thinner objects at least). Also good to note, wooden utensils tend to have a more satisfying “thwack” sound than the metal ones.
